Our story
Whangārei Give for Good was started over 15 years ago by a motivated group of local women who wanted to organise major fundraising events for local charities in Whangārei, including the biennial North Haven Hospice House Tour.
Celebrating community success
Previously called 'The Girl's Club', we are very proud to have raised over $200,000 for North Haven Hospice since 2009, with the support of our incredible community and extremely generous sponsors.
We meet regularly throughout the year to make sure our sponsors, attendees, and charities create the best memories with us.
With gratitude,
Jo, Vanessa, Jules, Lisa, Katy and Jade xx

I have been a member of Whangārei Give For Good since 2014. Hospice provides an outstanding community contribution and my involvement with Give For Good is an opportunity for me to give back in a way I know how.
My passion is food and I have been involved in the food industry for many years. I became involved with the Hospice House Tour when I was asked to help produce the lunches, which took some organising! With the help of kind volunteers, the lunches went off without a hitch. I am very excited about our upcoming event and with all proceeds going directly to Hospice, I encourage you to please buy yourself a bag of deliciousness when you purchase your ticket!

I have enjoyed attending many house tours over the last 15 years. They have taken me to different parts of New Zealand and provided enjoyable memories with friends. I wish my own home was house tour-worthy but alas no. I blame children and a busy job. Nonetheless, it is rare that I don't come away with some idea that I am able to implement in my own home, however small. I admire those homeowners who are prepared to generously open their homes to public scrutiny.
When I was asked last year to join Whangārei Give For Good and help organise their biennial house tour I was delighted to accept. North Haven Hospice do a wonderful job within our local community and Give For Good have raised an amazing amount of money over the years to support them. I hope that the skills I bring to the committee will help us do that again in the future.

The compassion, care and support Hospice gave my family to enable us to care for my Dad at home until he passed away really impacted me. The service they provide for our community is invaluable and I count it a great privilege to be involved with Whangārei Give For Good to raise funds for Hospice. It is a fantastic way to give back to our community and have fun along the way.
I love design, colour and texture and am intrigued by how people put these things together in so many different ways. I’m passionate about food and the way it brings life, laughter and comfort into our homes however simple or grand they may be. I’m excited to use my talents and energy to partner with a fabulous group of girls to continue to make the Hospice House Tours a great success.

Having experienced first-hand the genuine care and commitment that Hospice offers our community, I agreed without hesitation to join this group of committed women, who are striving to give back to our community.
I have recently sold a business within the hospitality industry, where I worked daily for the past decade. During this time, I bonded with so many beautiful local people who, in one way or another, relied heavily on Hospice during their darkest days. I had always supported as best as I could with the limited time that I was able to offer, however now that I have the extra time, I’m hoping to help as best as I can to represent absolute gratitude to such an amazing organisation. I am proud to be involved in an event of such high merit.

I am delighted to contribute to the incredible mahi of both Whangārei Give For Good and North Haven Hospice as part of this hard-working charitable organisation.
My family and I were generously embraced by the incredible wraparound care and support of Hospice in our time of need and I am grateful to now have the opportunity to offer my support in return. The care, kindness and compassion of Hospice during such difficult times is absolutely priceless. In addition to the amazing women on this committee, I would like to acknowledge the generosity of our homeowners who willingly open their beautiful homes and gardens for our biennial house tours, as well as the many businesses who support the tour through sponsorship, and of course, all those who attend the tour. Thank you for supporting us to make each tour such a success!

It’s an absolute privilege to have been invited to join this special group of ladies who give so much back to such an outstanding organisation. Hospice was an amazing support system to my husband and his family when his Dad lost his battle to cancer many years ago and this is my way of being able to contribute to a cause that they have always held dear.
Through our locally owned business, Outdoor Edge, we have been lucky enough to work on a variety of amazing Whangarei homes during our 10 years in business so it is wonderful to see some of these homes celebrated. I also hope to combine my love of interiors, homeware and travel by launching my own small business later this year. I look forward to helping bring to life another exciting and successful House Tour this year!
